Ricky's Biography

Ricky Rivers was born in South Wales. He became a fan of Elvis Presley at the young age of five after seeing him perform in the movie Jailhouse Rock, and at age 12, began playing guitar and keyboards. Within a couple of years, music had become a major part of his life.

During his late teen years he’ started practising more frequently at a local club, singing and playing keyboards. When a few months later a opportunity came up for him to sing at a local charity night, since then he has never looked back, emerging as a top solo artist on the local pub and club circuit.

Over the next few years he worked flat out up to about 4-5 nights a week, where in the spare time he had produced and wrote some of his own records.

It wasn’t till the tender age of 20 years old where Ricky had his sights set of following in the footsteps of his idol Elvis Presley. Ricky decided to pay tribute to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll when many people commented on his solo act saying, “You Sound Like Elvis” You Look Like Elvis” as well as being a die hard fan since a young age, this encouraged him to perfect his act and pay a respectful tribute to Elvis Presley.

Over the last few years Ricky as played at many different venues around he world, appearances, Radio, TV, but his highlight so far was to Perform at MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM SHREVEPORT LOUISIANA. The Louisiana Hayride in the USA, one of the first tributes to Elvis to perform there since Elvis himself back in 1954. Exactly 54 years later Ricky performed 2 songs, That's Alright Mama and Hound Dog, with the Homade Jam band which, knocked everyone off their seats and dancing in the aisles.

He has already received many awards at competitions throughout the Country. Inlcuding Best GI and Best Comeback Special Elvis. The Ultimate Elvis People's Choice Award in the USA 2008 and More Recently Best Young Elvis Lookalike 2008 at London England. Best Young Elvis 2008-2009, Ultimate Tribute Bonanza winner Spain. Just to name a few.
